Prepare
My style and preparation guide helps you to choose outfits for your family and prepare for your session. And I’m here for any questions you have before your session about clothes, what to bring, how to prepare, and anything else that might come up.

Session
When you arrive at the session, the fun begins. I’ll guide you through the whole session, so that you don’t have to worry or stress about a thing.
Regardless of if your children are timid or spirited, we’ll get amazing photos of them. And regardless of if you are a born to be model or extremely awkward in front of the camera, you’ll look great too.

Ordering Period
Two weeks after your mini session, you’ll receive a slideshow of the best images from your session. You choose a digital collection and gain access to your online gallery. Through your online gallery, you’ll be able to download the files included in your collection, order announcement/holiday cards, wall art, gift prints, and additional digital image files.

Digital Image File Collections
all collections include the high-resolution version of the files and a personal print release
Collection All: files of all images in gallery, which will include at least 20 - $600 ($30 or less per file)
Collection Five: five image files - $500 ($100 per file)
Collection Three: three image files - $450 ($150 per file)
print products available as add-ons to digital image file collections

I will double check that the date is still available. Sometimes you just can’t trust technology! If it is still available, I’ll follow up. I will include my full price list and any other details you’ll want to know before booking. I will also include a way to pay for your sitting fee and sign my contract, so that you can officially reserve your session.

I start monitoring the weather five days before your session. If the forecast is predicting rain, snow, or severe weather, I reach out to you to see if you’d like to reschedule.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like being sick. Let me know no later than 12 hours before your session starts and we can reschedule in the case of sickness. And I’m fully vaccinated for COVID.

Full family sessions are typically reserved for past clients, but if there is availability, I’m happy to discuss a full family session with a new client. Just send me an email at sara@saraherkesphoto.com to inquire. Full family sessions can happen at any location of your choosing, are twice the length of a mini session, and have the full styling process included.

Availability of locations sometimes changes due to construction, prescribed burns, and other maintenance they do at these locations that may cause them to be unusable. At the time of writing this, the locations available for mini sessions are Sandstone Ranch in Longmont, Pearson Park in Fort Lupton, and an Open Space in Frederick.

Due to my mini sessions being longer than the average mini sessions out there, I do not have the limitations other photographers face. As a result, I do not limit the amount of people that can participate. I have done extended families as mini sessions and am always happy to do so. Please do keep in mind that the more people participate, the less images we’ll get with each smaller group. With immediate families, I can get much more variety and can do more of a lifestyle session. With extended or large groups, I may only be able to get the more traditional poses in the time provided. If you’d like to do a lifestyle focused session with a large group, I encourage you to think of my full family sessions instead. I am happy to do mini sessions for a variety of session types, including professional headshots, seniors, milestone sessions, graduation sessions, and much more. The only two session types I don’t do as minis are newborns and maternity. In those cases, I have my petite offerings.
