School Photography FAQs
School Photography Process
-
The first step is to reach out via my contact page. I’ll see if I’m available and send you more information to review. If you’re interested in moving forward, we’ll have a virtual chat so that I can answer any questions you may have and see if we’re the right fit for each other.

The first step is reaching out. You can do so here. If you like what you learn, then we have a virtual chat to get to know each other a bit more and see if we’re the right fit for each other.
When you’ve booked and we’ve set the date, we’ll schedule a pre-photo day meeting. During that meeting, I’ll come to your school to pinpoint the best spot in your school photographically and logistically for photo day.
I’ll develop a communication strategy with parents and build your custom photo day page. I’ll handle all correspondence with parents, as well as keeping you up-to-date on what is going on with the parent correspondence and the status of reminder emails and such.
On photo day, I will arrive early to set up the photo location and get everything ready for the start time. I’ll run photo day and make sure we captured every student.
After photo day, I will edit the photos and deliver them to parents. Full galleries will be available to parents no later than two weeks after photo day.
Parents will be given a deadline to order. I’ll deliver the print products directly to the school organized for easy distribution to students. Digital image files will be available ASAP as parents order them.
I’ll also conduct a retake day to catch anyone that missed photo day or wasn’t happy with their photos. There will be an order process for them as well.
You can get more information about my process on the family experience page.
-
We can do school photos at any point during the school year. Some schools prefer fall. Others prefer spring. Some schools want to do both.
I do book up though, so it is best to book with me ASAP to get the most optimal dates for your school.
I’m also happy to recommend what would be best with your school population.
-
I photograph individual student portraits, group or class photos, and staff images. I can also help with yearbooks and IDs, cap and gown photos, website photos for the school, sibling portraits, and much more. Let me know what you’re looking for and I’m sure I can accommodate it.
-
After picture day, every family receives a private online gallery. From there, they can view the portraits and download or print their favorites. Everything is handled online for ease and convenience.
-
Very little. I provide everything needed for picture day and organize the flow of sessions.
Schools receive clear instructions ahead of time so the process runs smoothly.
-
I can work with schools of any size, from small preschools and homeschool co-ops to large school campuses.
We’ll plan together to make sure the schedule works well for your community.
-
The session itself is free for all families. They only pay if they choose to order prints or digital
files. Pricing is kept simple and affordable.
-
Yes. Class or group photos are available, and I also provide the school with any images needed for yearbooks, staff directories, or websites.
-
All I need to be successful is a student roster with corresponding parent emails and a small place with a plug. I will scout your school for that location when we do our pre-photo day meeting.
Boutique School Photography
-
Instead of stiff poses and forced smiles, these portraits are relaxed and timeless. Each child gets several images to choose from, and families can select the ones they love best. Ordering takes place after photo day, so that parents are only purchasing photos that they love.
-
I will deliver between 2-5 poses per child in both color and black and white.
-
You can expect individualized and customized service with someone that cares about your school, your students, your parents, your teachers, and your staff. Your community isn’t just a number to me. I genuinely care that everyone enjoys photo day. Because why do photos if they don’t spread joy?
-
A child centered approach means that the student’s experience is the #1 priority. School photos should be a fun and relaxed experience.
There are two major benefits to this approach. Having a relaxed and happy environment produces photos that students and parents will both love.
A child seeing a photo that they love of themselves does exactly the same thing it does for an adult, it boosts their self-esteem.
