Smooth and Easy School Photo Day Process
From prepping for photo day through to parents receiving their photo orders, I strive to make this as smooth and easy of a process for all involved. With the simple delivery of a student roster with parent emails, I take it from there.
Your school will have a devoted page on my website that is closed to the public so as to maintain student privacy. That page will include all the materials parents will need to prepare for photo day, as well as be a great resource for your school’s staff and administrators, so there is little need to wait for an email from me with information.
I will reach out to the parents myself, so that nothing is added to your plate as a school. Parents will be encouraged to reach out to me. If they do ask you questions though, you’ll have resources at your disposal so as to be able to direct them to the right place.
When it comes time for orders, school photos will be shared privately to the parents and all logistics will be handled by me. I’ll take orders, answer questions and address concerns, and deliver the print orders to your school.
Parent Help and Assistance
As a longtime portrait photographer, I know what goes into a good portrait. I’m not one of those “old school” school photographers that thinks school photos are simply a milestone and it doesn’t matter what the final image looks like. I know that how a child sees themselves can be shaped and formed by the photos we take of them. That a good photo of a child is just as self-esteem boosting to them as it is for an adult. Therefore, I provide the support and guidance to the students, staff, and especially parents to make sure that we can get the best photos possible on photo day. That doesn’t mean more work for administrators though. I do all the work of helping parents prep their students by providing the following:

I was drawn to boutique school photography when something simple became clear to me. Most families don’t get professional photography done. That means that photo day is often the only interaction a student and their family has with a professional photographer. I take that responsibility seriously. I want their experience to be a positive one. Just like a teacher hopes to be a positive force for their students in all things school related, I hope to be a positive force for your students in all things photo related.
It also means getting to decide what is the best fit for you school and working with me to create it. Instead of getting the one-size-fits all model of school photography when you work with a large company, we can create school photos that not only show your students in a genuine and authentic manner, but your school as well.
When you’re
behind the scenes at a photo day with me
you’ll see that it is very relaxed. I build in buffer time, so I can spend enough time with each student to warm them up, get comfortable, and give me those expressions that we as parents crave.
We’ll craft a photo day that works seamlessly with your school. It will feel as though it always belonged and not disrupt classroom flow or time.
My photo day flow will be just as quick as the larger companies, but you’ll find that I deliver much more. Students and their families can expect 2-5 poses for their gallery with their images in both color and black and white. I’ll get a variety of expressions, so as to capture the personality of the child.

Before Photo Day
Once I have a student roster and parent emails to match, I’ll take over from there.
Your school will have a custom made page on the back side of my website that your school and parents can access, but still maintains the privacy of your students. I’ll send out that page, as well as helpful tips, preparation information, and reminders for photo day myself, so nothing gets added to your already heavy workloads as administrators.

All I ask for is a little space to make beautiful photos. I’ll bring everything needed and have everything planned out and shared with you prior to photo day, so you know what to expect. Just bring me the students and I’ll take over from there.

Post-Photo Day
Since I already have your student roster and parent emails in hand, I’ve got this covered. Ordering and delivery of orders to your school will be covered by me.
I’ll make sure to keep you in the loop, but that’s it. I’ll take care of everything else and deliver a smooth ordering process for your students and their families.
