Why this location is perfect for Maternity Photography in the national park
The Mountains Tower Over the Valley
The mountains are right there at this beautiful portrait location in Rocky Mountain National Park. Compared to other locations in the national park, the mountains are very close and we are lower down on the mountain. This means that the mountains tower over us in a way they don’t in other parts of the park. It creates epic and dramatic scenery that is unmatched elsewhere, even in the national park.
Barely a Walk
You could practically have a conversation between the portrait spot and the parking lot at this location. It does mean it is a bit more public, but it isn’t that popular of a spot and there will be few people there even in the high season. The huge benefit is that we are not walking as much and can maximize your photo time. It also makes it easier if someone has difficulty moving around or you just don’t want to walk much during your pregnancy. It also means that this location is easy to pair with another location in the park.
Can Easily Be Paired with another Rocky Mountain National Park Location
What I most love about this location is that we can easily pair it with another location just up the mountain a bit. That means that we can start at the bottom of the valley and then go to the top. It leads to a variety of images with a diversity unmatched elsewhere for locations.
Water + Mountains is an epic duo
It can be difficult to get both water and mountains in the same photo in Colorado. This location is one of the few I have found that doesn’t require a long hike. This location is perfect for this combo and works really well for maternity sessions because of the proximity of the water to the mountains. If you are looking for a location with both water and mountains, and have it be in the mountains instead of the Front Range, this should be at the top of your list.
Why This Location Might Be For You
I’d recommend this location for you if:
you want magnificent mountain views.
you want alpine meadows
you want water
you don’t want anyone to second guess that you’re in Colorado.
you want to get a diversity of backdrops by going to other spots before this one in the park. This location can be paired with other locations nearby to get more than the mountain backdrop.
