Maternity and Newborn Session Timing and Availability

It is recommended that you book maternity and newborn sessions with me as soon as possible. That ensures a greater chance that I’ll be available. Additionally, it takes time to plan your session and the less time we have, the less options you’ll have available to you. It is also important to book both at the same time, so we can save both your and my time by planning both together.

Your maternity session will take place sometime between 30 and 36 weeks gestation, with it being earlier for multiples or high-risk pregnancies. You can find more information about maternity timelines on my blog post - When is the Absolutely Perfect Time to Take Maternity Photos?

For newborn sessions, there are two possible timelines. For in-home newborn sessions, we’ll do those in the first month of your baby’s life. For outdoor sessions, those are done in the second month. You can find more information on this blog post - When to Schedule Newborn Photos.

So long story short, plan ahead and reach out early. It breaks my heart when I have to turn a prospective client away, because I’m booked. Don’t have it be you.
