Tips for Hair and Make-up
Book and plan now! As in before your design meeting with me. Hair and make-up artists book out far in advance, so book as soon as you can. If you’re doing your own hair, do a practice run through at least a week in advance. Especially if you’re pregnant, your hair may not act the way you expect.
Give yourself plenty of time before the start of your session. Since sessions are based on sunset, we cannot push back a session time.
Take into account the environment we’ll be in that day. If it’s windy, I recommend an updo. I do recommend having your hair held back in some way, so as to keep it from getting in front of your face. Even the lightest breeze can make completely loose hair difficult. Hair spray is also a must as wind and humidity happen more often than we think. With my style of shooting and editing, frizz and flyaways will be much more noticeable. These will not be fixed in editing as part of my standard service, as they take quite a bit of time to fix. Fixing hair will incur an additional charge. It is best to plan ahead instead.
Bookmark the clothes styling page of the client resources on your phone before your hair and make-up appointment, so that you can show your hair and make-up artist your dress for the session.
Ask hair and make-up artists about their rescheduling policies and enter it into the form. Since your session is outdoors and weather is at play, we may need to reschedule. So it’s best to know when you book what your rescheduling options are for hair and make-up.
